Institute of Labor Science and Social affairs: 40 years of development and growth

(Labor and social affairs) On April 14, 1818, the Institute of Labor Science and Social Affairs (Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs) celebrated the 40th Anniversary of its founding and received the Second Class Labor Medal. Attending the ceremony were Deputy Minister Doan Mau Diep, Deputy Minister Le Quan; the former ministers and vice ministers of Labor, Invalids and Social affairs. The event received congratulation flowers from National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan; Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc; Minister Dao Ngoc Dung ... Particularly, the ceremony was attended by many leaders and staff of the Institute over different periods.

Founded on April 14, 1978, after 40 years of development, the Institute’s scientific research has taken firm steps forward. Overtime, the Institute of Labor Science and Social Affairs has affirmed the position and role of scientific research in policy making and management in the field of labor, people with merit and social affairs. The Institute’s research results have contributed to the development ofa theoretical system of labor and social science; providing scientific arguments for the Party and the State to set forth policies, formulate and implement mechanisms, policies and laws on labor, people with merit and social affairs, addressing the practical development needs ofthe country in each period; contributing to improving the socialist-oriented market economy institutions. Some research results have left a deep mark on development stages of the Ministry, such as the promulgation of the Labor Code in 1994 and subsequent specialized laws; the development ofthe National Hunger Eradication and Poverty Reduction Targeted Programme, the National Employment Program and policies on basic social services, social insurance and social security.

 

 

On behalf of the President of Vietnam, Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Le Quan presented the Second Class Labor Medal to the Institute of Labor Science and Social Affairs 

Considering valuable contributions of the Institute of Labor Science and Technology to scientific and technological research, the President issued Decision No. 575 dated April 13 on awarding the Second Class Labor Medal to the Institute for outstanding achievements in innovative works, as well as construction and defense of the country.

 

 

Deputy Director Luu Quang Tuan was honored to receive the Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister.

 

The Prime Minister also awarded the Certificate of Merit to Deputy Director Luu Quang Tuan for his achievements at work from 2013 to 2017, which contribute to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland.

 

 

Deputy Minister Doan Mau Diep together with former Deputy Ministers Dam Huu Dac and Nguyen Trong Dam congratulated collectives on receiving certificates of merit from the Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs

 

Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs awarded certificates of merit to 02 collectives and 09 individuals of the Institute who have made outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement of the Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs sector in the period of 2013 - 2017.

 

Sending congratulations to generations of leaders, staff and researchers of the Institute, Deputy Minister Le Quan, the direct leader of the Institute, openly recommended the Institute to recognize the challenges to take more solid steps forward. The Vice Minister suggested that the research work of the Institute should be carried out more effectively, especially in the fields of sustainable employment, human resources training and employment conversion. The Institute need work towards becoming a research center of science - labor – social affairs providing requested subjects and initiatives for investors and enterprises outside the industry. Deputy Minister Le Quan also recalled the instructions of the Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs in the previous meeting with the Institute. Accordingly, the Institute should balance theory and practice in research, and link research results to each application area. The Institute should focus on developing a set of assessment tools and gain a head start in research to make strategic forecasts about labor supply and demand and improve the quality of human resources in the context of the industrial revolution. The Ministry "ordered" the Institute two issues, one is labor supply and demand, the other is vocational education in the fourth industrial revolution.

 

 

The ceremony of the Institute of Labor Science and Social Sciences was conducted successfully with many wishes for the future progress of the unit.
