Abstract: On the threshold of ASEAN economic community integration – the turning point that marks comprehensive integration, creating a union of production, trade and investment, the common market of the member countries. This article refers to the real situation of labour productivity of Vietnam in comparison with other countries in the region to identify the opportunities and challenges related to growth and labour issues. The research results showed that: although Vietnam labour productivity is low, the gap of labour productivity between Vietnam and other countries with high labour productivity is getting narrower and narrower positively.
